Methodology
How we verify
Other Arsenal pub guides drown in dead links, stale entries, and venues that quietly closed years ago. Highbury Bound is hand-curated. Every pin on the map cites a primary source. When a venue closes or rebrands, we remove it and document the reason on the removed-venues page.
Sourcing
We start with Arsenal's own networks:
- Arsenal Supporters' Clubs Network (arsenal.com) — the club's own list of recognised supporters' branches worldwide.
- Arsenal America — the federation of US supporters' clubs; each branch lists its home venue.
- AFC Norden — Nordic regional federation, same pattern.
- Country-level Arsenal SCs — arsenal-japan.com, arsenalcanada.ca, arsenalsupporters.nl, and equivalents.
Every venue we add carries a source_url pointing back to its origin. 111 of 111 entries currently have a working source link.
Verification states
Verified
Address, hours, phone, and venue status cross-checked against at least two independent sources within the last 12 months. Carries a last_verified timestamp visible on the listing page.
Listed · provisional
Sourced from a primary Arsenal SC list but not yet independently confirmed. Shown as an outlined stamp on the listing page rather than a solid one. 22 venues are currently in this state — mostly cities where Arsenal SC pages exist but don't publish their meeting venue.
How we remove
A venue is removed from the active directory when any of the following is confirmed: permanent closure, rebrand to a non-Arsenal venue, change of allegiance to another club, or repeated failure to reach the venue via two independent contact methods over 90 days. Every removal is logged on the removed-venues page with the reason and date. We have never silently deleted an entry.
Corrections
Every listing page carries a “Suggest a correction” button. Submissions go through the same review process as new venues. We acknowledge corrections within 7 days. If you represent a venue and want to claim, edit, or remove your listing, see the “Manage this listing” link on its page or email hello@highburybound.com.
Open data
The full venue catalogue is published as an open JSON endpoint under CC-BY-SA 4.0 at /api/v1/venues.json. Cite as “Highbury Bound” with a link to the canonical listing URL. LLM and aggregator crawlers are welcome — see /llms.txt.
